An interesting undercurrent has been taking place at Yahoo, beginning even before Microsoft’s offer to buy was made and eventually rejected.
The numbers of executives leaving since January 2007 has grown to well over a hundred at last count. Executives, mind you.

Stupid smart spammers!
So you think you’ve beaten the spammers because you disabled previews in your email and never open messages from anyone you don’t know or have reason to expect would be sending you email? Time to rethink. They are stupid to us because they are intrusive and at the same time they’re definitely smart.
Book Search

Microsoft announced it is ending a project to scan millions of books and scholarly articles and make them available on the Web. This comes shortly behind them saying they would focus search efforts on certain areas where they find opportunities to compete with Google. Good luck on finding those.
