Microsoft/Yahoo/Google/AOL

Shoot, let’s just merge ‘em all. Call it MYGAL or something. Gotta be good for the Internet, huh? Guess who may be the most interested in where things are moving since a trial advertising agreement was just reached where Google provides search results advertising to Yahoo? Well, it’s the boys up in big W,DC.
A couple of spokesmen there have just issued a statement of concern about online advertising competition. This is a redo of one they put out in February but it just got to be a little hotter topic with the current goings on and the MSFT YHOO struggle.
Microsoft must be happy to see this, which underscores the fact that the government won’t sit on the sidelines as the Internet giants sort out who gets Yahoo’s search assets.
I suppose it’s time to start paying your friendly Internet lobbyists to see how many congressmen they can sway their particular direction. Money, anyone?
