Fort Google

Have you enjoyed the street level view, panoramic photos that Google has been loading up for us? It’s pretty neat looking at any part of town and 360′ing around looking at storefronts head-on, etc…especially in cities or parts of cities you’re not likely to ever be in anyway.
Poor man’s travel guide I suppose.
Well, how would you like to look around a military base? For a few hours, you could have before the images were taken down. Hard to believe, but field folks doing the picture taking for Google did just that at Fort Sam Houston while they were canvassing San Antonio, TX. I guess since there were a lot of streets inside the facility they felt like they should take pictures. So, they asked permission…….and got it. Now there’s security for you.
That’s right, they just let ‘em right in with their roof-mounted cameras, let ‘em take all the ’shots’ they needed and waved goodbye (I guess). You think they didn’t understand that everything inside the facility would be out there for everybody in the world to see?
I feel sooo safe…..
