Ah, Leap Day!

Happy Leap to you on that strangest of days that seems to appear just to mess up the only 4 week month we have. We talk of 4 weeks in a month all the time, yet only Feb has the real thing, ‘ceptin on the quadrennial when we tidy things up a bit, accounting as the Romans did that rotation and revolution of the earth don’t quite match up.
So today is sort of a cleanup day, to fix the inaccuracies. It’s that kind of day that comes with no particular plans of its own and falling on a Friday makes it seem even less relevant.
Yet it’s really neat in its oddity. I have a dear friend who is 18 today. And I think that’s kind of neat for someone born in 1936. There are actually about 200000 people in the US born on Feb. 29th so to all of them I say Happy Birth/Leap Day.
