Seed Money

I guess that’s what you would call the financing for the new seed repository just completed by Norway and designed to hold 4.5 million seeds to protect the interests of agriculture in case we blow up most areas or contaminate things so badly we either destroy or sterilize all the seed crops.

This seed bank is located 425 feet inside a frozen mountain and the seed money to build it was just over 9 million dollars. It is intended for any nation to be able to deposit seeds for the future and make a withdrawal whenever needed.

What’s the last thing you would think was needed to protect the seeds? If you guessed air conditioning, you’re right. Remember this thing is 425 feet deep to protect from even nuclear strike so at that depth it will have warmed up some. The air conditioners will bring the temp back to 0°F.
