Street View Maps from Google
Posted on February 14, 2008
Looks like Google adds about 35 street level view maps of cities in the US in the course of a year. The latest are Juneau, Boise, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Manchester, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Albany, and Schenectady. I guess G can only afford a few vans to send out at a time or maybe they like to post a few cities along for the press, scattering the PR out over the year rather than working the job in mass. At this rate, when will they finish? In other words, what is their goal? Does anyone know their cut-off for city size? And how often do they plan to update what they’ve mapped? Oh, and when will they start with other cities in the world?
